About the Lodge

A welcoming Freemasons lodge in West Kent, where brotherhood, charity and personal growth come together.

What Is Freemasonry?

Freemasonry is one of the oldest social and charitable organisations in the world. It brings together men of every background, united by shared values of integrity, kindness and a desire to give back to their communities. There are no secret handshakes — just genuine friendship and a commitment to being better men.

Under the United Grand Lodge of England, Freemasonry is built on three great principles: Brotherly Love (treating others with care and respect), Relief (practising charity and caring for those in need), and Truth (striving for high moral standards in everything we do). Last year alone, Freemasons donated over £51 million to charitable causes.

At Borough of Woolwich Lodge No. 6610, these aren’t just words on a page — they’re what bring us together every time we meet.

Our Lodge

We are a small, friendly group of men from diverse and varied backgrounds, all joined by shared values and a genuine enjoyment of each other’s company. Founded in 1948, Borough of Woolwich Lodge No. 6610 has been part of the West Kent community for over 75 years.

Our lodge is known for its warm, welcoming atmosphere. Whether you’re a seasoned Mason visiting from another lodge or someone completely new to Freemasonry, you’ll be made to feel at home from the moment you walk through the door. We take our ceremonies seriously, but we never take ourselves too seriously — expect plenty of good conversation, laughter and friendship alongside the formalities.

We’re proud to be part of the Province of West Kent, which oversees lodges across South East London and Kent, all under the United Grand Lodge of England.
